Safety & Warranty
Last updated: 23 September 2026
We want every Lampeek product to be enjoyed safely and used as intended. This page provides general safety guidance for our lamps and explains the warranty and consumer rights that may apply if something goes wrong.
Always follow any product-specific instructions, warnings and technical specifications supplied with your lamp or displayed on its product page. Where product-specific instructions differ from the general guidance below, follow the product-specific instructions.
1. General product safety
Use your Lampeek product only for its intended purpose.
- Place the lamp on a stable, level and dry surface.
- Keep the lamp away from open flames and excessive heat.
- Do not cover the lamp or obstruct ventilation around electrical components.
- Keep electrical cables and small components away from young children and pets where appropriate.
- Do not use a lamp that appears damaged, electrically unsafe or unusually hot.
- Do not dismantle, modify or attempt unauthorised electrical repairs.
- Follow all product-specific electrical, charging and bulb requirements.
2. Indoor and outdoor use
Unless the relevant product page specifically states otherwise, Lampeek lamps are intended for indoor use in dry conditions.
Do not expose a lamp to rain, standing water, excessive moisture or wet conditions unless the product is specifically designed and rated for that use.
Do not place lamps close to sinks, baths, showers, swimming pools or other water sources unless expressly permitted by the product instructions.
3. Mains-powered lamps
For lamps connected to mains electricity:
- Use the lamp only with a compatible electrical supply.
- Follow the voltage, bulb fitting and maximum power specifications stated for the product.
- Do not use the lamp if the plug, cable, socket or electrical components appear damaged.
- Do not pull a plug from a socket by pulling the cable.
- Keep cables away from hot surfaces, sharp edges and areas where they may create a trip hazard.
- Disconnect the lamp from power before replacing a bulb, cleaning the lamp or inspecting electrical components.
If you are unsure whether a lamp is compatible with your electrical installation, consult a qualified electrician before use.
4. Rechargeable and portable lamps
Where a lamp contains a rechargeable battery, use the charging cable supplied with the product or another compatible cable that meets the lamp's stated charging requirements.
When charging a rechargeable lamp:
- Place it on a stable, dry and suitable surface.
- Charge it in a cool and adequately ventilated location.
- Keep it away from bedding, curtains and other easily combustible materials.
- Do not cover the lamp or charging equipment while charging.
- Do not use damaged charging cables or power adapters.
- Keep the lamp away from excessive heat and direct sunlight while charging.
- Do not leave a charging product unattended for extended periods.
- Do not leave a lamp charging overnight unless its product instructions expressly permit this.
Where the product instructions recommend fully charging the lamp before first use, follow those instructions.
Do not use a rechargeable lamp while it is charging unless the product instructions expressly state that this is supported.
5. Rechargeable battery safety
Stop using and charging a rechargeable product immediately if you notice:
- battery swelling;
- leaking;
- unusual or excessive heat;
- a burning smell;
- smoke;
- significant physical damage; or
- any other indication that the battery may be unsafe.
Do not puncture, crush, dismantle, burn or intentionally expose a rechargeable battery to excessive heat or water.
If battery material comes into contact with your skin or eyes, rinse the affected area thoroughly with clean water and seek appropriate medical advice.
6. Bulbs and light sources
Some Lampeek lamps use replaceable bulbs, while others use integrated LED light sources.
Where a replaceable bulb is used:
- Use the correct bulb fitting specified for the lamp.
- Follow the electrical specifications stated for the product.
- Never exceed the maximum wattage stated for the lamp.
- Allow the bulb and surrounding components to cool before touching or replacing them.
Do not attempt to dismantle or replace an integrated LED light source unless the product instructions specifically state that it is user-replaceable.
7. Paper lamps
Paper lamps require additional care because their shades are made from lightweight and heat-sensitive materials.
- Use only a suitable light source that meets the lamp's stated specifications.
- Do not exceed the maximum permitted wattage.
- Make sure the bulb or light source does not touch the paper shade.
- Keep the paper shade away from open flames and other heat sources.
- Do not cover the lamp.
- Keep the shade dry.
- Make sure the shade and supporting frame are correctly assembled and stable.
Stop using the lamp if the paper shade becomes scorched, severely damaged or positioned so that it comes into contact with a hot component.
8. Children and pets
Lamps and their accessories are not toys.
Keep electrical cables, charging equipment, detachable components and packaging materials away from young children and pets where they could create a risk of injury, entanglement or choking.
Children should use electrical products only with appropriate adult supervision.
9. Placement and heat
Place your lamp on a stable surface where it is unlikely to tip, fall or be knocked over.
Keep lamps away from:
- open flames;
- heaters;
- stovetops;
- other high-temperature appliances;
- easily combustible materials; and
- prolonged excessive heat or direct sunlight where this may damage the product.
Never cover an operating lamp with fabric or another material that may trap heat.
10. Cleaning and care
Unless the product instructions state otherwise, switch off and disconnect the lamp from power and allow it to cool before cleaning.
Use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth appropriate for the material of the product.
Do not immerse electrical products in water.
Avoid applying cleaning sprays, solvents or abrasive products directly to electrical components, charging ports or delicate finishes.
11. Damaged or potentially unsafe products
Do not continue using a product if you believe it may be unsafe.
Stop using the product and contact us if you notice:
- exposed wiring;
- a damaged plug or power cable;
- damaged electrical components;
- persistent overheating;
- smoke or a burning smell;
- battery swelling or leakage;
- serious impact damage; or
- another condition that may make continued use unsafe.

12. Repairs and modifications
Do not open, dismantle or modify electrical or battery components unless the product instructions specifically allow you to do so.
Unauthorised repairs or modifications may create electrical, battery or fire hazards.
Damage caused solely by misuse, an unauthorised modification, incompatible equipment or use contrary to clear product instructions may not qualify as a product defect for which Lampeek is responsible.
This does not limit any mandatory consumer rights available to you.
13. Warranty and statutory consumer rights
Lampeek products are covered by the mandatory consumer guarantees and legal rights applicable in the country where you purchase them.
These rights are separate from our 30-day change-of-mind return policy and may continue after that return period has expired.
If a product is faulty, unsafe, not as described or otherwise fails to comply with applicable legal requirements, you may be entitled to a remedy such as repair, replacement, price reduction or refund, depending on the circumstances and the law that applies to you.
Lampeek does not currently replace these statutory protections with a separate commercial limited warranty.
Nothing on this page, in our Terms of Service or in another Lampeek policy excludes, restricts or overrides consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
14. European Union customers
Consumers in the European Union benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity provided by applicable EU and national consumer law.
Consumers in the EU generally benefit from at least a 2-year legal guarantee for consumer goods that are faulty or do not conform to the contract. Some national laws may provide longer protection.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, available remedies may include free repair or replacement and, where the relevant legal conditions are met, a price reduction or refund.
These statutory rights apply independently of Lampeek's 30-day change-of-mind return policy.
EU legal guarantee notice
From 27 September 2026, consumers purchasing goods in the European Union are also provided with the official harmonised EU notice explaining the legal guarantee of conformity.
The official notice explains the principal EU legal guarantee rights and directs consumers to further information provided by the European Union.

15. United Kingdom customers
Customers in the United Kingdom retain all mandatory rights available under applicable UK consumer law.
Goods must meet applicable requirements, including being:
- of satisfactory quality;
- fit for purpose; and
- as described.
Where these requirements are not met, remedies may include rejection, repair, replacement, price reduction or refund, depending on the circumstances and applicable legal requirements.
Nothing on this page limits those statutory rights.
16. Australian customers
Our goods come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Depending on the nature of a failure, Australian consumers may have rights to repair, replacement, refund and compensation as provided by applicable law.
These rights apply independently of Lampeek's 30-day change-of-mind return policy.
17. United States customers
Customers in the United States retain product-safety, warranty and consumer rights available under applicable federal and state law.
Nothing on this page excludes or limits a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Reporting a faulty product
If you believe your product is faulty, damaged or unsafe, stop using it where appropriate and contact:
Please provide, where available:
- your order number;
- the product name;
- a clear description of the issue; and
- photographs or a short video where they would help us understand the problem.
Please do not dispose of a product that is the subject of a claim unless it is unsafe to retain or we tell you that disposal is appropriate.
We may request additional information where reasonably necessary to identify the issue and determine the appropriate remedy.
If a faulty product needs to be returned, we will explain the return arrangements and cover reasonable necessary return costs where required by law.
Products that arrive damaged, faulty, incomplete or incorrect are handled in accordance with our Refund & Returns Policy.
19. Serious safety incidents
If a Lampeek product causes or appears likely to cause a serious safety incident, stop using it immediately and contact us at hello@lampeek.com.
Please provide as much relevant information as you safely can, including the product involved, what happened and any useful photographs or video.
Where required, Lampeek will take appropriate steps in response to an identified product-safety issue, which may include investigation, customer communication, corrective action and cooperation with relevant authorities.
